Our Philosophy

We are recognized knowledge leaders in environmental law, adding value to our clients’ businesses through collaboration and teamwork. Our many of years of experience are coupled with innovative thinking and business-focused problem solving to reach the best solutions for our clients. We remain on the cutting-edge of legal developments, taking the time to study, track, and anticipate changes in environmental regulations and precedent that could potentially impact our clients. In every matter that we handle we partner with our clients to minimize risks and advance our clients’ short and long-term objectives.

Our History

Bick Law was formed with the goal of building a world-class environmental law firm singularly focused on serving the needs of business clients. Kimberly Bick, the firm’s founding partner, launched Bick Law to provide “Big Law” clients with skilled environmental counseling utilizing a flexible billing structure based on their individual situations and objectives.

With offices located in Southern California, our California environmental lawyers are well-positioned to meet the diverse demands of global business clients. Our attorneys have substantial “Big Law” experience and have practiced environmental law at the highest levels throughout their careers. In 2015, Bick Law was established as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise and in 2016, Alan Bick joined the firm after retiring as a partner from Gibson Dunn with 26 years of environmental law experience.

Firm Culture

At Bick Law we pride ourselves on collaboration. We are a diverse group of professionals who operate collectively towards a single goal—providing our clients with top-tier legal service. Our attorneys use this same team approach when working with clients to find the right solutions for difficult issues. We believe that everyone plays an important role on our team as a hands-on contributor to the end goal. Similar to a start-up company, we enjoy an open culture. We support independent thought and encourage creativity because we believe this approach works to achieve the best possible results for our clients

As a boutique law firm, we recognize the need to go the extra mile to recognize, honor, and incorporate diversity into our firm culture. This is an educational process and, like most law firms, we are still in early in our journey. Through strategic partnerships with like-minded local organizations, we are making great progress toward equality of opportunity and breaking down barriers faced by under-represented groups in environmental law.

Diversity

As a Women Business Enterprise, Bick Law prioritizes hiring, retaining, promoting, sponsoring and mentoring women, black, brown, and indigenous persons of color, LGBTQ individuals, and differently abled individuals.

Bick Law LLP is committed to leveraging our resources in partnership with other organizations, such as the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance and the California Lawyers Association Racial Justice Committee, to amplify the voices of communities and individuals oppressed by racism, to better using environmental law as a vehicle for change that benefits communities of color, to promoting racial equity in the law, and to fighting racism in every way we can.

Sustainability

Bick Law recognizes that everyone’s actions impact the environment. It is our policy to act as a responsible citizen in all of our business decisions and actions. We have taken the California State Bar Eco-Pledge and are committed to using our best efforts to advance sustainable practices in our office environment.

Actions speak louder than words. We proudly:

  • Reduce and recycle waste;
