Wed Dec 31st, On Firm News, by

We are pleased to announce that attorneys Kimberly Bick, Alan Bick, Corrie Plant and Tyler Alexander have authored the USA – California: Law and Practice chapter of Chambers and Partners’ Environmental Law 2025. Part of the well-respected organization’s Chambers Global Practice Guides, Environmental Law 2025 is a “definitive global law guide, offering comparative analysis from top-ranked lawyers.”

USA – California: Law and Practice in Chambers and Partners’ Environmental Law 2025

In their chapter of Environmental Law 2025, Kim, Alan, Corrie and Tyler provide a detailed overview of the legal and regulatory framework governing environmental compliance in California. Some of the key topics covered in the chapter include:

  • Sources of regulatory authority
  • Environmental permitting requirements at the state and federal levels
  • Environmental incidents and types of environmental liability
  • Corporate liability and responsibility
  • Personal liability
  • Transferring and apportioning liability
  • Waste disposal, contamination and environmental disclosures

The chapter also discusses strategic considerations for managing and mitigating companies’ environmental risk. This includes a discussion of when cooperation with state and federal authorities may be warranted (and what this cooperation may entail), as well as a discussion of key considerations for negotiating transactions that have environmental compliance and risk-related implications.
