Bick Law Welcomes Newest Hire

Greetings to all our readers and environmental law audience members. My name is Micah Porter, and I am excited to introduce myself as the newest addition to Bick Law LLP, where I will be performing the duties of a legal assistant, primarily through operating the firm’s blog. I am enthusiastic and honored to be adopting this position, through which I will be providing frequent updates on the endeavors and achievements of Bick Law LLP, as well as the current environmental affairs taking place around the globe. As a habitual patron of the New York Times, I hope to utilize this blog to create a direct line of access to new information and groundbreaking occurrences that the environmental legal community can use to stay informed and aware of the ever-changing policies and cases. 

A bit about myself: I am a junior at Wake Forest University where I am studying Political Science and Mandarin Chinese; I hope to use both skill sets in a future career in environmental law. At Wake Forest, I serve as assistant editor of the university’s newspaper: The Old Gold and Black, for which I hold the responsibility of writing, editing, and laying out weekly news articles that are projected to our student body of 7,500 students. My involvement at Wake Forest also includes membership in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and Philosophy Society. As a native to Portland, Oregon, I additionally strive to spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible; this connection with nature has been a motivating force in my decision to pursue environmental law. 

In this role, I look forward to advancing my understanding of the legal underpinnings associated with environmental law and hope to cultivate a community in which legal professionals might continue to stay informed in conjunction with the changing policies and cases. I am continuously humbled by the innovative performance of Bick Law LLP and any lawyer who translates their passion for advocacy into real-world accomplishments; I am always looking to learn and grow in my knowledge of the law. With that said, I openly accept criticisms and commentary about blog stories and look forward to connecting with our audience regarding suggestions and input.
